The Cornish Dragon was started a few years ago by me Victoria Tierney. From an early age I have loved making things. When I left school I trained as a Florist gaining my City & Guilds Certificates. I changed career and went to work for the Retail Jewellers Ratners, it was while working with them I gained some basic skills with pliers and other tools. I then started making costume jewellery for family and friends. Unfortunatly the Ratners stores were shut down and I was made redundant so the Jewellery making was put aside.
A few years later while visiting my sister in Cornwall I met my husband and moved to Cornwall to live. It was while bringing up my two children that I turned to crafts again, firstly papercrafts and then the Jewellery making bug returned. When the children started school I decided to work for myself, as I can work around school hours.
Currently I'm busy teaching myself Silver / Metal Smithing, learning from books and the Internet and my greatest source of inspiration is the rugged North Cornish Coast I call Home.
Jewellery is my favourite thing to create but I still manage to find time to make other items like Faery Cards, Wooden Elves, and much more.
I have also started to learn how to make my own Lampwork Glass Beads under the name of Storm Glass Beads. It is a very addictive and I really enjoy creating beads out of molten glass.
You will find more about my work through my Cornish Dragon blog, the link is on the Home page.
